Bidra med feedbackLocated next to the rail station with plenty of parking options nearby, Buffers is a small independent cafe housed in a quirky old building with funky decor. Upon arrival, I was the only customer. The close proximity of the kitchen meant the scent of cooked grease was noticeable, but I decided to support the local business rather than head to a chain restaurant across the road. The friendly staff member behind the counter was accommodating, offering recommendations and adjusting menu options to suit my preferences. I opted for an Americano and vegan breakfast for £7.60, not sure what to expect. The food turned out to be delicious, and I would definitely return if I find myself in the area again. Service was quick, making it convenient for those in a hurry. However, during busy times, wait times may be slightly longer. With a 5-star food hygiene rating, Buffers is a great choice for a visit if you're in the area. Dogs are also welcome at the cafe.
Stopped in for late breakfast. Great good, friendly service Very dog friendly. Ours loved his sausage bowl. Would love to go back again.
We decided to have lunch at this restaurant today before heading home from our holiday at Hafan-Y-Mor. Despite the good reviews, I must warn others not to make the same mistake we did. The setting is quirky, but unfortunately it is very cold and dirty. We had to wait 40 minutes for our food, as the chef claimed he couldn't microwave it quickly enough. Thankfully, we were able to get a table inside, although half of the sitting area was closed off during the busiest time of the day. Despite this, it was still cold inside and the tables were filthy. My coat kept sticking to the table, even after wiping it down. We ordered two Ivor breakfasts and a Thomas the tank engine breakfast. When the food finally arrived, it was very greasy and tasteless, with undercooked fried eggs. All three of us left feeling queasy and disappointed, as we had been looking forward to a nice cooked breakfast to end our break.
I tried Buffers for the first time after being turned away from Whitehall because they didn't allow dogs. Buffers had outdoor seating that was dog-friendly, so we decided to sit down. The staff were extremely accommodating, even when my boys changed their minds about their orders. They swapped their fishfinger wraps for Thomas the Tank brekkie without any issue. My eldest wanted hash browns instead of beans, which was also not a problem. The food took a bit of time to come out, but it was all freshly cooked. My youngest particularly enjoyed the sausages, which seemed to be from a local butcher. The staff even brought out a chopped up sausage for our dog, which was a nice touch. My only criticism was that the Welsh rarebit was a bit small for the price we paid. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back. Next time, I think I'll just stick to the full Welsh brekkie.
Have been coming here for over twenty years for breakfast either when on holiday or just for days out and have never been let down by the food or the staff always a pleasure
