Tacos El Durango - Gurnee

This place is a hidden gem in Gurnee! It has absolutely delicious traditional Mexican cuisine! This is a small family restaurant with no more than 10 tables. At dinner there with my husband recently I commented to him that the sopis were so good that it tasted as if his mother had made them. When we heard this, our server replied: “This is because MY Mom did it!” You have to try. While a little expensive for Mexican food, it is definitely worth it.

Absolutely fresh and delicious food with fast and friendly service. The only way they could be better is if they gave free refills on their tacos!

The restaurant was super clean and the tables were spaced to allow the social dispute. The atmosphere is beautiful, beautifully decorated. Food was really good and fresh. Recommend this place for really good Mexican food.

Friendly people, good tacos and good prices for tacos and tortas. I really enjoyed the tongue and pastor/pork tacos. Oh, and their salsas are delicious.

It's actually been a few months since the last time I ate here and really been missin' it. IMHO Tacos el Durango is in my top 3 among Mexican restaurants in Lake county and in this county alone there's gotta be easily 200+ places to get Mexican eats. Cozy venue is always kept ultra clean and friendly staff/owners are serving up delicious Mexican fare at reasonable prices. A bit of a hidden gem even though it's off of a main drag just west of US 41 in a low lying strip mall in far southeast Gurnee near the Park City border.
