Salute Italian - Gulfport

THe last 2 times I ate here my food had just been like warm not a hot dinner served. It was cheese ravioli and second time spaghetti and meatballs. The others in my party had hot food.

The food was not at the quality we expected. The pizza my grandson ordered had dough that was soft and almost raw in the center with crispy burnt edges. My granddaughter spaghetti and meatballs came out with a bowl of noodles barely covered in sauce with a meatball and very little sauce. My husband ordered the cheese ravioli with bolognese and it was cheese ravioli that you can get out of a bag certainly not homemade. The bolognese was full of large chunks of tomato and just ground meat. So disappointing!! I ordered the chicken picatta and while it was good the pasta was cold while the chicken was warm. The entire meal was ordered and delivered to us in less than 7 minutes so it is obviously pre cooked and not anything special. For the price we paid we expected so much more. Definitely a tourist trap. Will not do this again!!

The shrimp grits eggs Benedict was amazing as well as the crab cake eggs Benedict my sister had. We shared the Bananas Foster bread pudding. O.M.G.! It was to die for. We will be back for Sunday Brunch again. Can't beat $3.00 mimosas.

My club went to Salute today. Four of us ordered the spaghetti borgnenaise spaghetti with meat sauce). The sauce was 98% tomatoes, very little meat. We expressed our unhappiness to the waitress, who didn't care. This dish usually has a lot of meat in the sauce. We probably won't be back
