Bidra med feedbackWell deserved 5-star quality lunch in a laid-back location. Very attentive friendly service with chef providing alternative ingredients due to some food allergies. All plates superbly presented and most ingredients sourced locally.: couldn't have asked for more!
Quite hard to find (the adjacent bridge over the Bidouze is closed) but worth the trip. Stylish and very tasty, from the amuse-bouche onwards. We were intrigued by the pelote players visible through a window in a court immediately next to the restaurant, silently practising throughout the meal. We were glad we booked, they were full (a Friday evening in April).
We had dinner at the Gantxo twice during our stay in the Basque countryside near Guiche. We ended up there unexpectedly on our first night with 3 hungry children after a long day of travel, and had a stunningly delicious meal. We liked it so much that we were back a few days later. The menu is very short (4 appetizers 4 or 5 main courses and 3 desserts), but everything we ordered was cooked and presented to perfection. It confirmed our opinion that the Basque cuisine is the best in the world. The restaurant is a very good choice or families as they offer a kids menu with either meat or fish, also delicious, and there is a playground just outside the restaurant where your kids can relax while waiting. Service is efficient and pleasant and we realized people travel quite a bit to come to this restaurant. The patrons included French people as well as foreigners (British) vacationing in the region so they probably speak English. The restaurant is next to a Pelota room and you can watch people playing the game. We will definitely be back if are again in the Basque country.
Excellent restaurant. One of the best in the region.
First gift meal taken in this restaurant. The staff is in small care, the atmosphere is calm and relaxing. The places are quiet, and the small family room. As for the kitchen there are few superlatives to describe its taste and quality, everything is at the TOP of soup or entry, until dessert. The dishes are perfect and beautiful, bravo to the chef!, but it is well helped in this by the knowledge of the patroness regarding the marriage of flavors. A duo who knows where he's going... hat. The price is consistent with the benefit offered.
