Took my wife for her birthday. Got a drink and appetizer. They were good. Then we both ordered steaks. I ordered mine medium rare. My wife ordered hers medium. Both came out well done. There was absolutely no pink on them. No big deal. We sent them back. We waited…and waited…and waited. After 30 plus minutes they still had not returned with our steak. Our waitress said the cooks(I use the term loosely because who overcooks a steak that bad? had put our corrected order at the end of the line. We decided to leave after that. If you want good food, go to Gaskins Cabin instead.

We had reservations for a week and were so excited to take our teenage granddaughters to a nice restaurant. The atmosphere was perfect! The food was fantastic! But the server needs to be trained in serving. Only half the table had silverware...no big deal. She brings the bread and only half the table had bread plates. Hmmm guess we were supposed to put it on the table? Then she brought out fried oysters, and again, not sure what we were supposed to put them on? Had to ask her for EVERYTHING!! Jenn. Get some server training and the tip will reflect it!

We were so excited to try this place after reading reviews. We arrived early and had no trouble getting to a table in a beautiful atrium after having a drink in the lounge. We ordered raw oysters for an appetizer. The server said they were pre-shucked. We didn’t know that meant in a shot glass. These were clearly farmed oysters, not fresh. They were room temp and incredibly slimy and foul tasting. I had to spit mine out. We couldn’t get past 1 and ordered a dz. The server came and we told her what our experience was and she said “ya.” And took them away. We had the duck which was overcooked and tough, and a seafood dish and the shrimp was chewy. We got our bill and the oysters were on it. We asked to have them removed bc they were clearly rotten and the sever said, “well they’re always slimy.” And we said, “oysters are not supposed to be slimy and these were clearly bad. They had a milky film around them and tasted rotten.” And she finally had them removed from the bill. There was never an apology, and no attempt to make it right. We left with upset stomachs and disappointment.

We ordered the Bonsai chicken to go. It was awesome! The venue is beautiful! The bread was awesome and the salad was super fresh! We discovered this the last day but wish we had found it earlier!

The service was the absolute best. Angela was our server/bartender. She was so friendly while also allowing us to have a great date night. We had great cocktails as well. We started with the smoked salmon, SO good! We also both had the filet, one of the best, if not the best cooked filets we’ve ever had. Dessert was also as good at we expected given the other course. We’ll definitely be back and requesting Angela!
