This hotel and restaurant offer a great get away or evening visit in the area. The hotel being an old renovated castle is very well done in the room atmosphere with some parts of the exposed old castle walls and paintings are art work from...historic days of the castles original glory days. There is something to be said for staying in an estate that has been around since which even in the old says served as lodging for travelers as well. They do offer tours here as well which due to my short time I did not take but walking the grounds just makes your imagination run wild of what this place looked like back in the early times. During my stay I dined in the restaurant with my colleague from the area. It was a Sunday evening and the staff and chef accommodated us and were treated very great. The service staff was excellent and the chef greeted and discussed our food selections. The meal was great, very well prepared and displayed for presentation. They do keep things prepared from local sources so the menu is changed regularly to keep new and inviting things available. Even larger course meals are offered to give you a little bit of a sample from a larger selection of regional specialties. You cant forget the excellent selection of wines either, since you are located in wine country there is something for everyone's palate. The Castle even has their very own collection of crafted wines as well.

Wir waren am Karfreitag da, unsere Kinder hatten etwas Hunger. Aber nicht genug für jeweils eine volle Portion. Die Kässpätzle wurden problemlos auf zwei Teller verteilt. Auch wenn wir die einzigen Gäste haben wir uns wohlgefühlt.

Sehr freundliches Service und gutes Essen. Große Weinauswahl. Stimmungsvolles Ambiente. Ich komme gern wieder!
