Bidra med feedbackHearty fare. Staying at the co located motel.Pleasantly surprised to see they welcomed single diners to the extent that a double table had a single setting and I hadn't booked. The service was excellent. Its very cold outside. I should have liked soup for a starter because there are some great italian staples!. Never mind. Quite an interesting menu if one ignored the pizzas is there a local rule that every restaurant must offer these? I had slow cooked beans and home made italian sausage for a starter; beautifully flavoured sauce and melting beans. The lamb rack was somewhere between baked and braised but it was very good. Veges an odd but acceptable mix of chips and a few cm of sweetcorn, both probably frozen, nicely done broccoli probably fresh, and a perfectly roasted slice of butternut whose tender skin made it obvious it was locally sourced and cooked. Only thing this is a winegrowing district. The wines by the glass, admittedly about 8, were unbranded varietals and going by those I tried, not very interesting. They missed the chance to showcase local wines; a pity because I look forward to that when I try regional restaurants.
Really tasty meals and friendly staff.
