Gretna Depot Cafe Spirits

Came here after finishing up a race and another establishment had nothing but appetizers. The burgers are everything at this place! I ordered the original boxcar extra patty, (don't do that unless you really want it... one patty is more than enough). I ordered my wife the Jamaican burger and a house salad,(a Westbank house salad, so a huge salad. Haha). I also ordered chicken fingers. All the food was fantastic! We couldn't complain about it at all! Mind the inside though, the bar area can be very lively. Very loud, funny as hell, but very loud. Outside was super nice. All in all, truly enjoyed my experience. Servers are super nice and welcoming! Give it a try!

This place used to be great Sat down on a Tuesday at 6 Not busy at all The bartender and waitress looked at me And I sat there for 10 minutes and no one ever came to take my order, got up and left. Went to el gato negro instead!

This used to be a great place to go. But not so much anymore. I ordered the surf and turf po-boy and the shrimp were so over cooked you could not eat them. Like literally, could not eat them. They were like fried dry shrimp that were not chewable. I picked them off and ate the rest. I could go into the other less than favorable experiences I've had there the last couple of times but won't. It's a shame because they used to be so good. Food, service, and hospitality have all gone down hill. I don't know what happened but it's a shame. A few years ago, I'd have said go eat here, no doubt. Now? Pick one of the other great options they have in old Gretna.

First time checking this place out after years of hearing good things. We had a lovely table outside on a nice breezy night, and the staff was extremely kind and attentive. The bartenders were making fantastic drinks in the kitchen did a wonderful job on the food. We started off with the fried shrimp covered in bang bang sauce (I think)? Everyone loved it. The burger one of us had was ON POINT. My Buffalo chicken wrap was a bit wet and fell apart when I tried to pick it up leaving me eating with knife and fork to avoid more a more sloppy mess. I wish it was more wrap like but it was still tasty.

A co-worker pick this spot for lunch, she said it was a great place. When we walked in it was already full of people. We didn't have to wait long for a table at all. However, our waitress did let us know that the kitchen was behind so it would be a wait for our order. (Only reason for the four stars). They have a big menu which ranged from burgers to seafood platters and everything in between. I decided on the Mac n Cheese Burger, which came with Parmesan fries. When it arrived to the table the burger was HUGE! So I decided to just dive right in. I ate a couple of fries which were good, but too rich for my liking. Then I took a bite of the burger it was amazing! The buns were soft but not too soft, which I like. Pattie was cooked to perfection! Definitely will be going back here for the burger alone, but definitely want to try more things on the menu.
