Located on the main route through Gréolières, right in front of Cheiron, Le Relais attracts everyone from hikers, parapont enthusiasts, cycling clubs, cyclists and car clubs. Philippe, a delightful, friendly Corsican and his team will give you a warm welcome, whether you think of a coffee or a complete lunch. The menu offers delicious simple dishes (some with a Korean taste). I personally have no favorites. Nothing on the menu here is disappointed. The terrace is in the sun all day and is busy on weekends. The local water flows freely from the well on the terrace and is so fresh and tasty. Philippe Pietra, a Korean beer from chestnuts, serves beer lovers. When you go through Gréolières, Le Relais is worthy of a stop, even if it is to sit and enjoy the view with a glass of wine and chat with friendly locals.
I apologize for the photo, the food looked so delicious and smells so great I had no time to make a picture of it before it all consumes. Great service and beautiful prices. Very nice house cooked meal. Very recommended!
My wife and I stopped in late, around 2:00pm when most French lunch spots have long stopped serving. We were met with smiling faces and a welcome atmosphere. Le Relais is a homey, family style restaurant with a medium sized (but effective) menu. Sat in...the back dining room that has plentiful windows overlooking the town, we were on party of about three others. Quickly attended to be our kind waiter (an accomplished marathon runner) we were served EXCELLENT steak tartare, a tall glasses of Corsican beer and a pitcher of rosé. Salty, crispy and hot french fries were the perfect accompaniment. The food was so good, and the atmosphere so welcoming we ordered the ‘hot cheese duo’. Melted cheeses, potatoes and cured meat satisfied are hunger. Friendly to cyclists and sport enthusiasts, open extended hours, great staff and food. A home run Grolières.
We stopped for lunch, before going on a walk in the mountains. We sat on the pleasant terrace and I can't really comment on the inside. I had a venison stew with polenta and my wife a bruschetta. My stew was excellent. My wifes bruschetta,...was good, but it would be nice if they had more than one vegetarian version, all except one had ham. Service was exceptionally friendly and the meal was excellent value.
