Southern Roots - Greensboro

If in the city southern roots is our fix for tasty home kitchen. the personal and eating are always top notch.

The food and service were exemplary. We had the seafood risotto and the pulled pork plate. Finished it off with Jack Daniels bread pudding and Godiva chocolate mousse pie. All were absolutely excellent!

Loved the place, never thought a Iron steak could be cooked this perfect, the fried shrimp appetizer was delicious, friendly staff and considering how busy it was on a Saturday night the service was quick and excellent. Thank you for this good experience One thing you must try is the onion pie, it’s heavenly

The menu is great, the sandwiches we had the hill, chicken salad on croissant were nice. I like that every thing on the menu is under 20. Sandwiches we had were under 10. The fries were less than desired because they weren’t crispy. The chicken salad didn’t have enough chicken on it and we asked for lettuce and tomato on it and they only brought lettuce on it. We had a couch seat, the other white chairs looked uncomfortable. The outside area looks awesome with a fireplace blankets and heat lamps. The service was professional. The bar area looked nice although I just had a water. Other people’s plates looked respectable.

Pretty good place. The food was fine overall. I never had an onion pie before so I gave it a go. I was pleased. The squash side dish was bland but it’s suppose to be a healthier Mac cheese alternative. I added salt pepper to it. I enjoyed the two condiments that came with the cornbread appetizer. The catfish was hot and tasty. I also had a well made dirty martini. I’d give it another try and order something else.
