Lovely place and great hospitality. Food is excellent. Because of the fire ban in a 43C summer heat we managed to order 2 sets of tasting boards. Especially like the homemade baguette and foccacia, the goat cheese, pate, and the terrine. The light Pinot Gris makes this discovery complete.
Fantastic and creative food, emphasising the flavours and freshness of the ingredients. Had the chef's menu started with Marlene's delicious freshly made sourdough flatbread, moved on to exquisite octopus entree (nicely seasoned, beautifully plated and cooked just right ; my sister had the oysters (fresh and with a delicious gin and dill dressing . The snapper fillets as the mains were cooked to perfection by Rohan: crispy skin and the flesh was tender, silky and juicy. This was paired with a lovely Clarnette Ludvigsen 2013 Viogner, and sat beautifully with the flint and mineral notes. Had a brief rest and Marlene recommended a taste of the Dhiaga Rosé (definitely a winner! which refreshed the palate, with delightful floral notes, unfurling playfully in the mouth and prepping the senses for dessert. The blueberry terrine with moscato jelly and vanilla bean icecream did not disappoint. A wonderful treat to end the night! Marlene and Rohan are warm hosts, and clearly take pride in their food and wine offerings. It was a pleasure to enjoy delicious food cooked with love and a certain je ne sais quoi that is definitely worth a visit!
Our annual Gentlemen's car rally enjoyed a very wonderful lunch several weeks ago. The setting was beautiful, the layout excellent, the hosts extremely warm and professional and the Duck Confit exquisite. Would recommend to anyone seeking excellence.
