Bidra med feedbackGrandcamp-Maisy is a small little hamlet right against the atlantic on the normandie coast of the nw. When they roll through these parts, bar de la plage is a great visit. whether to eat indoors or outdoors, there are really no bad sitting options. it is cozy, yes she read that as small, but it is romantic and has charm for days. they offer a large seafood menu, including moules as well as artisinal cheese and various other offers. with eating and drinking we have taken the view of the and enjoyed reliefs as we saw the time melted from the afternoon to the evening. the service is friendly and efficient and helpful. ibar de la plage reminds them to make the best of the moments and that a good meal is all part of the trip.
We sat outside and were well supervised by the attentive staff. I was disappointed by the very limited child menu (one choice), so we share a main course between our girls that they are very happy to do. the only real problem was that a toilet seat was missing in the otherwise good toilets. with 4 and 6 year old girls, who are always “needed to go” as the dinner is served, this was a really disappointing factor, as it would be easily fixed. otherwise the meal was good.
We ordered the Moules lunch special not thinking we would be served 100 mussels!! Wow!!! If you love 'em this is the place. Nice outside seating along the port.
..I rate it four out of five because it was better than average. This is very much a bar that serves food and was ideal as a lunch stop between Pointe du Hoc and the German Cemetery at La Cambe. The terrace was full ...great sea view) so we sat inside which was a bit dark on a sunny day. The service was fine and the food hit the spot without being special. The frites were excellent. I only wish we had eaten there the day before and not at the Brasserie au 6 Juin in Arromanches which was truly awful! So in that regard worth a journey.
Stay in front of location to see the D-Day locations. this restaurant found in our first night and came back three times. great food, great beer, great host.
