Had lunch, the winter special, a varity plate at couldn't decide what to try. So good took some frozen borscht and perogies home for another day. Cant wait to for next road trip to stop by again.
Most people will probably have heard of borscht – an eastern European soup. But we’d certainly never heard of most of the other ‘speciality’ dishes on the menu. We decided to try one of each share. Loved them all, but the beef potato...one in steamed pastry was superb. Next time we’ll order a flock of them. Great space in which to eat – feels a bit like a converted bank, good service staff who were knowledgeable about the menu. All in all an excellent lunchtime stop.
Returned to Grand Forks for the first time in 40 years. Missed the Doukhobor food. Great borscht, varenaki and pyrahi at a decent price. Co-owner Lil was friendly and reminisced with me about the old days, even though this was the first time we'd met....Highly recommend it.
During our bike ride through Grand Forks, we decided to stop at Borscht Bowl for lunch. We absolutely loved it! The staff was fantastic and the food was delicious.
