Spatzenhausl - Grainau

Tried to reserve via Website wich apparently did not work, when we arrived there we were turned away very rudely and with an arrogant attitude.

This restaurant checks all the boxes: food is great, the setting is warm and inviting, the service was outstanding, the beer was served quickly, and the price was right. I had the pork medallions, which were served in a roasting pan and surrounded with a...large portion of macaroni and cheese, and roasted vegetables. It was drenched in butter, which made eating the entire bowl a challenge. It was delicious, to be sure, but so rich! Highly recommended to those with a big appetite.

Although we arrived without reservations during the busy time, the staff kindly found a table for our group. Spatzenhäus’l offers excellent food in an unhurried atmosphere. Everything we tried was excellent and served by a friendly staff.

This was a very popular restaurant and we were asked to wait a short time for a table which was no problem. After about minutes we were seated and then waited minutes to be served a drink and our order taken. An hour...later we were told that one of the dishes was no longer available. In total we waited over hours for food that didn’t arrive. There was no explanation, the staff waitresses were aggressive and rude. There was shouting in the kitchen and lots of broken plates. I’m sure if you’re patient enough to wait for the food it’s good but quite honestly the service was absolutely disgraceful.

Been here many times and food is always good. Mostly local traditional food, lot of pork: fillet, schnitzel, grillhaxe etc. Very good salads, especially Hause salat (my favorite). Big portions so you never stay hungry. Good local beer (München). Good selection of local shnaps (especially...Williams Birne). Excellent servis. When it's full hause, they find you a table, if you can wait minutes. Waitress named Monika is absolutly professional, very friendly and fast. Only minus in this restaurant is that they don't have english menu, but they explain and discribe everything in english if you need help. Prices are normal.
