Bidra med feedbackMy partner and I went to Welcome India tonight for dinner, as it had good reviews and it was down the road from the motel we were staying at which was convenient. If looking from the outside it doesn't seem like much, but once we walked in, the chef and the duty manager made us feel very welcome, plus most importantly the place was warm. The service was excellent and the food was delish, even the chef came out and asked us how the food was, (mind you we were the only ones in there) a lot of their customers do takeaways, but still, if I lived in christchurch I would be there at least once a week, just for the service alone and the chicken biryani, the butter chicken, the garlic tikka, naan bread that has a different name. Lucky I haven't gone thru the menu, I have something to look forward to when I'm back in christchurch.
We recently used Welcome India’s catering for a private function, food was delicious and in good quantity, loved by all our guests. Since then, it is our favourite place for dine in and takeaways. Highly recommend this place! If you are looking for authentic Indian food for dine- in, takeaway or you need special catering services for your special occasion, must try this place.
I have ordered take away here twice in the last week. The vibes while waiting (not a long wait) are welcoming and very authentically Indian. The food is delicious (I had dal makhani and chana masala and naan, which is amaze balls). The serving sizes are VERY generous. One main (which comes with rice) and a plain naan fed me for two nights in a row, and I am a big eater. Tasty dinner for $10 can't complain about that!
Last night I ordered malai kofta, prawn tikka masala and butter chicken with three naan breads (one plain, one garlic and one cheese and garlic) for family dinner take-away. It was all fresh and delicious with generous portion sizes. Also, service was quick and reasonably priced. Many thanks Welcome India!
This was the first time I visited this restaurant. The food was great and very tasty. We had a small wait and while sitting there and also enjoying a refreshment they bought out some free poppadoms. We didn't request these so it was a pleasant surprise. The time then passed very quickly. They are certainly worthy of consideration. Car parking is easy usually out front.
