The Tea Room - Gosport

Since many years this is our favourite place to go to for afternoon tea. We love the cream tea there. Sandwiches are also very good. Staff is very friendly and helpful. And then afterwards a nice walk on the beach which is just opposite. For us a perfect day out :

We stumbled across this cafe as we’d parked our car a little away from the seafront I’m so pleased we did. We were only going to get a coffee as usually I’m coeliac) it’s too difficult to find anything that’s gluten free and suitable. I asked the waitress “ do you have anything gluten free” and was pleasantly surprised that they do gluten free bread for sandwiches) and also had a selection of cakes. We both had scones, jam, butter and cream which were served warm and were delicious . The price was reasonable including a coffee or pot of tea. Now I know that I can eat here I’ll come hungry next time!

We were given a voucher for Christmas for a luxury cream tea. It was valued for 6 months which I thought was fair. We were in Lee so gave them a ring to see if we could go in. So glad we did as it was really good. Plenty of filling in the fresh bread sandwiches. The scone was fresh and tasty and the cake was delicious. We both had coffee and I’m fussy about coffee but it was very nice and it was hot which is not usually the case. So I would highly recommend it.

Found this hidden gem just off the promenade....well worth a visit. Sandwiches were freshly made and good,quality bread used. Cake wasn't dry and good portion size. Plenty of tea in the pot. What's not to like ??

Popped in for a drink and piece of cake. Sat inside to have a chat with family and had to move outside as couldn 't hear waitress or each other due to approx 10 ladies have an alcoholic afternoon tea. I love seeing people enjoying themselves but they took over the whole place. When paying I said I am unable to leave a tip due to the noise and having to move outside and the reply was 'its not our problem nothing we can do. '. I feel a more senior member of staff would have not allowed this or replied in this way. Milkshakes were made with warm milk too, very disappointed with visit.
