Rankine's at The Whistlestop - GOOLWA

A busy Saturday night but no matter the dishes were all delicious, try the homemade pate..... the dessert was a bit disappointing. The service is very casual and could be conscrude as rude, i enjoyed it. The bill was a bit on the high side.

They fitted us in on busy Mother's Day at last minute (we were just passing through) Lamb burger was fantastic, fish and chips very good Great wine list, very friendly staff Recommended to go here by local cabbie and her advice was spot on

The restaurant is tucked away in a side street of Goolwa and we were lucky to find it. We booked ahead and it was as well as it was packed, (and therefore quite noisy). Staff were friendly and professional, plenty of choice on the menu and specials board and the food was very good quality, couldn't be faulted.

The menu looked great, the food didn't deliver. Kids pizza should have been remade, veal wasn't cooked properly, meals were very slow to arrive. Bread wasn't fresh, neither was Dukkah. When your paying city prices you expect city standard. There is no view or other factor to compensate for these shortcomings. We won't be coming back.

I absolutely adore this restaurant. The food is incredible, the service is friendly, and the atmosphere is fantastic. They have created something truly exceptional that cannot be criticized. Whether you choose to dine indoors or outdoors, the space is roomy and inviting. I highly recommend this place, it's a perfect 10/10.
