Greendays - Gold Coast

Had a beautiful lunch with a large group of friends. Ignore the sour-puss reviews this is a gorgeous setting amongst a lush tropical oasis. The menu is small but has a variety of delicious choices, we found ourselves eyeing each others dishes and will be...back to sample them all. The desserts are luxurious so save room. Our group of 30 received fantastic personal service from Chrystal which is hard to do with a group as big as ours and we will all definitely be back.

We attended yesterday for the cheese high tea. 3 People and we paid $54 dollars each, so including more drinks and an extra dessert we ordered we spent well over $200. For that we got one small baked camembert, one small wedge of blue cheese,...some tiny scone things, one baked pear that the menu said was stuffed with gorgonzola but was an inedible mush with so much fennel in it (not listed on the menu), 3 cheese stuffed dates and some other tiny bits. Dessert included for three people was ONE little carrot cake about 5 inches wide served in a cocktail glass. The decor of the place is lovely but the ceiling fans are clearly only for decoration as they provided no relief from the heat and it was boiling hot in there. Service was extremely poor (not down to the staff, just not enough of them) and I had to leave my seat twice to get their attention. Asked for some more water (tap and warm) and it never arrived. At a large table near us (not marked as reserved) an extremely elderly lady who used a wheely walker was with her friend and they sat and ordered coffees. Staff ordered them to move to a different table to accomodate a large party. It was very difficult for the elderly lady and she was in tears. Staff did not assist them in any way. In addition to this we were not required to provide ANY information for contract tracing at any point. Will not be returning.

I absolutely adore the atmosphere of this restaurant and the impeccable service, however, the high tea offering was disappointingly small. The selection consisted of only a third of a sandwich, a tiny scone, and some sweets. My friends and I were taken aback by the portion sizes and left the restaurant still feeling hungry. The price we paid for the high tea was not justified by the quantity of food we received. It would be better if the restaurant were more generous with their portions. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.

The atmosphere at the restaurant was pleasant, but the high tea was disappointing. The stand for 4 people only had small cakes that were bite-sized. The scones were good, but there was a minimal amount of cream and jam. The teacups were beautiful, but very tiny, with only one included in the price. Despite not being a big eater, I left feeling hungry. Overall, a meal might have been a better choice, but we were there to celebrate a birthday.

I went to this restaurant for lunch on Saturday 19/3/22 with a friend and left feeling very disappointed. We were seated in a corner with chairs facing a lounge area. We waited 35 minutes before we were able to get the attention of anyone for a glass of water. The waitress apologized and explained that they were very busy with three other large reservations. We then ordered our meals and a drink, but our meals arrived before our drinks, which took a few extra minutes. Our empty plates sat on the table for a while and we were never asked if we wanted more drinks, dessert, or coffee.
