Metropolitan - Goeteborg

Now, you don't go here for a gourmet meal, nor do you go here for a romantic dinner. This is a train station café with sandwiches , pastries and food. With that said, WOW, the location is just meters from the platforms and the do have outdoor seating almost on the platforms. A good selection of drinks. If you have some time before your train departure, this is the place you want at Gothenburg central train station

Ok for a short break, if you are waiting for a train. If you are looking for a delicious meal in a pleasant environment probably not the best choice. Staff member seemed to be not motivated at all. Short answers. The ordered pizza was ok but the CaesarSalad was a desaster. Big chunk of dried bread meant to be the croutons, only a few green leaves of salad buried under a ton of chopped bacon and dry turkey breast. It was such a sad meal. Glasses with remains were left on the other tables for quite a long time before they were taken away by the waiter. The toilet was one of the dirtiest place I’ve ever seen. They must have cleaned it a few days ago.

Metropolitan is located inside Gothenburg Central Station and serves both as a bar and eatery for passengers waiting at the train station. The restaurant appears inviting and is nicely decorated with inspiration from European cities. Food and drink were ordered at the bar. During the visit, the employee appeared to be not very service-oriented and directly rude. I dared to order an entrecote and a ceasar salad. The food was served after an acceptable wait and was nicely presented. The meat was properly cooked and appeared tender. The ingredients seemed to be fresh, but neither the entrecote nor the ceasar salad excelled especially in terms of taste. The prices appeared to be high in relation to what was served and poor service helped to reduce the experience. I visited the place two weeks later and was also this time met with poor service attitude among the staff, which makes it clear that the restaurant has a challenge in relation to this. Based on this, I can not recommend the place.

Nothing to write home about. Seems like someone was trying a bit too hard to prove a point but failed. Overall not overly happy with what Gothenbutg has to offer except for the seafood and this didn't make things better.

Was on my to Stockholm and I noticed this new beautiful place. Good food and not expensive, good wines too. Friendly staff, especially Kimberly, make it ideal place to eat properly before journey.
