KFC - Gloucester

I visited this KFC location for the first time and was disappointed to find that the food was not up to par compared to other locations. The chicken was dry and lacked flavor.

The service at this restaurant is incredibly slow. I waited over 30 minutes for a 4 piece meal and the staff seemed unaware of the time passing. The drink machine has been broken for months. I recommend avoiding this place and instead going to Loblaws down the street for their $11 chicken combo.

After a long day of exploring Ottawa, my partner and I decided to wind down with a light bite at the Rideau Centre food court. On our menu? KFC, Rouge Poulet Chicken and TP Tea. You can rightly assume chicken was our primary focus! Before talking about the delightful snack treat, I do have to express my surprise at the lack of reviews for this unit of KFC on TripAdvisor (4 AND the length of time that’s passed since it was written (7 years!!! . That’s crazy! I wasn’t even on TripAdivisor for 2 months when the most recent report was penned! I’m used to seeing low numbers for large fast-food chains on this site, but even this one blows my mind for some reason. I mean, as of this writing, the same location on Google has 222 reviews. Seriously makes me reconsider where I author my opinions . . . anyway . . . Because this KFC is situated in a high traffic area it is, understandably, quite busy (despite the slew of recent negative reviews on Google . . . I swear, the internet has just empowered whiners . Nevertheless, staff on hand navigated the early evening rush quite well. I received my order of 5 hot wings soda after about 10 minutes, which was fine by me because it ensured my chicken wings would be fresh. And they were exactly that – piping hot, crispy coating and juicy meat with a hint of spice. I’ve said it before, but it merits repeating: Nothing beats KFC hot wings when they’re fresh! FOOD: 4/5 SERVICE: 5/5 VALUE: 5/5 RECOMMENDATION: While my soda became a mere afterthought upon sampling the offerings at nearby TP Tea (see my separate review , our KFC hot wings were a proverbial home-run. Thus, if you find yourself pining for a quick snack while patronizing the Rideau Centre, KFC is a fine and fair option. Recommended!
