Latitude 43 - Gloucester

I had seen latitude 43 on phantom gourmet and decided that during the stay in beauport I would go to dinner there one night. that was not worth the price and I would have better off the money otherwise.

We always enjoy Lat 43 and the service was great for our special event and generally everything was really good except for this time and the last several times when I have ordered any variety of salmon sushi, it is fishy and stringy and I couldn't eat it. The tuna tasted metallic as well. Sometimes the fish buying is just better than others I guess. Spicy salmon press box used to be my favorite sushi of all time. I hope it gets better again.

We sat outside and it was gorgeous. The food was good. It was an enjoyable meal.

My partner and I were visiting town and a few locals suggested here. I loved the clam chowder with bacon! My boyfriend did not. We both enjoyed our dinners pan seared scallops and haddock both cooked to perfections. The vegetable were seasoned just right and were delicious. A bit high priced but it is on the water and in a tourist town. We would go again!

In the past Lat 43 has been a great place to eat. Saturday 3/17, hopefully, was an aberration. We had 6:30 reservations and everything (drinks, apps, meal) came so quickly we were done by 7:05. The waitress rushed us out of there, even though the place was half empty. And the food was subpar, I was sick the next day. I will give the place another chance since it's been spot on in the past. But I won't go until the weather is nice enough to sit outside and be served fresher seafood than what I had the other night.
