It's well worth your time and money. Great experience!
The service was terrible. Once seated, we waited 10 minutes for the waiter to come and take our orders. We ordered a dozen oysters on the half shell, and a 6 oz. sirloin steak w/baked potato, and drinks. About 20 minutes later, the oysters arrived, but there were only 6, not 12. My wife said that they didn't look right. She tasted one and immediately spit it out. She told the waiter that they were not fresh and had him take them away. Soon after, another waiter arrived and swore that they were fresh. I think he might have been the manager/owner (who knows). Anyway, we opted for the calamary as a substitute and it turned out to be just mediocre, but edible. When the steak arrived, it was cooked just as I had ordered (medium) but it wasn't very tender and lacked flavor. They don't even have proper steak knives there. Instead, they hand you a butter knife! The baked potato was undercooked on one side. I'm not sure how that could happen, but one half of it was very hard. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to eat steak in Glenwood Springs.
Overpriced. Texas road house is better. No bread refill. Go down to hatch and slope, it’s less than a block.
If you want food poisoning, this is your place! After coming here for many years I was shocked at my experience. My other family members have recently came and said it has gone down hill since new the ownership. I was hoping they just had a few bad days and got my family to give it one more chance. I ordered coffee which was lukewarm and they charged me for two cups when I asked for a top off. We shared some French fries which were fine and we ordered the fresh seasonal vegetables, French dip, and the beer battered Cobb with a Cesar salad and Lucy’s house salad as the sides. When the fish arrived it smelled horrid. I stupidly took a bite and the taste of the fish was foul. My mother took a bite and spit it out, we agreed it smelled like ammonia. The “fresh” seasonal vegetables was canned corn that was stale. Both the salads were wilted vegetables. The French dip was edible but not good. The server asked how everything was and I informed him the fish was bad. He immediately picked up my plate and offered to bring just the salad back out. When he did it was the house salad with ranch in a cup on the side but the salad was covered in some kind of oil or vinegar already, wilted lettuce, canned beans that were gooey, and cucumbers that were going bad. I didn’t eat salad as I got sick and threw up in the bathroom from the fish. Sadly it’s not the restaurant it once was and we will never come back.
