Bidra med feedbackWe drove out to Glen Rose to watch the Promise on Easter weekend, not sure what to expect The Rooster ? is located on a golf course in a very large barn dominium. My neighbor and I looked at each other and decided let 's see. Glad we did, menus written on a chalkboard as you enter easy fare -pun intended- we chose sandwiches a chicken and a club with fries, got our drinks and watched the Masters. Dinner arrived with a ? and little fanfare. Tasty, and I was amazed Candice could eat All that chicken my club was awesome ?. Point of interest we arrived at 17:30 only one 's there by 18:30 The Rooster ? was packed. Clean, Friendly, and worth your time and ? which was reasonable. Enjoy ?
This is a counter service part of an amazing golf course. I've enjoyed every meal I've had here and the staff is always friendly. The menu is surprisingly versatile considering the venue. The chef salad continues to be a favorite.
Apparently my idea of a 5 star place differs from others. This place is a 2 star at the most. It's an open cement floor building with cheap round tables and chairs more suited to a high school reunion than a restauraunt. A couple of kids behind the so called bar that only sells canned beer and mixed drinks that are way overpriced. I mean $8.00 plus tax for a can of beer that I know cost them .50 at the most. I understand markup, but there comes a time when it's just gouging. The sandwich I ordered (BLT) took way too long to make and the waffle looking fries came after I finished the sandwich. It was all served in cardboard boxes. The food was okay for where it came from, but 5 star? I think not. I also learned way too much about the cats that the bar server had because she couldn't stop talking about them to the cook. Don't come here looking for a dining experience. When we turned into the golf course we figured it would be like other golf course eateries. Nope, they just charged like they were.
Best burger in town. Their jalapeño bread burger is seriously a must have. Highly recommended!
Serving scratch-made food (not pre-packaged) in a very clean restaurant on a beautiful golf course, the Rooster is one of the best places to eat in the Metroplex. This place never lets me down with their handmade burgers on a jalapeño bun, buttermilk fried chicken, weekly fried fish special, or the best meatball sub I have ever eaten. Family and large-group friendly, the Rooster is the place to eat in Glen Rose.
