Jens Damm has already painted the guest room. Now the kitchen is on. All devices of the predecessor are in front of the house. “I cook with my own devices,” says Damm. He is the new one in the Glashütter excursion hall Bretthäusl and in stress. Because on Thursday the place will be opened again. Until then, the kitchen has to work. He brought some devices, some of them bought it extra. In September he learned from the SZ that the long-term Bretthäus’l-Wirt Klaus-Dieter Klaproth has to be shorter and therefore wants to separate from his restaurant in the Prießnitztal. Damm's interest was raised. The man from Ottendorf-Friedrichswalde has been looking for a place for some time. Nearly 21 years he stood behind the vault in the original court of Lohmen. Now he wants to restart with 52. The change is still future music. Damm focuses on the opening. He will lead the house with his wife and two employees who were already at his side in Lohmen. With their help he wants to open the Bretthäus’l on Thursday and Friday from the late afternoon and on Saturday and Sunday from noon, if necessary and on other days. On the menu are dishes from local cuisine. They went well in Lohmen. “It will be Savenger and defensive roasts,” says Damm. A main dish costs about ten euros. Damm hopes that the previous regular customers of Bretthäusl will remain true to him. Then we wish enough guests and good luck!
