Always great eating and service. it is worth trying.

Quiet, friendly and comfortable small restaurant. brilliant for if they are something delicious and not sure how hungry they are. the fried chicken was a manifestation. wonderful food and good value for money

Our initial impressions were good, with seaweed and edamame starters delicate and tasty. The chicken kaarage was also tasty, however perhaps a bit over-fried. The gyoza dumplings were so-so, unremarkable in flavour and were served first with empty sauce bowls (understandable that things can be missed) . MOst disappointing were the skewers, extremely over-fried and lacking substance, especially the okra and green beans. Dessert choice of fruit salad contained only one of the fruits mentioned on the menu, there was no mango and it was served with icecream and cream, when we chose it as a vegan option (granted this was explained as a menu printing error). It was a pity as there were some good things overshadowed by the bad and Mikaku did not live up to Jay Rayner's review so we will not recommend to others.
