Tartufo is normally referred to as the black gold due to it's high price. However here it is sold at ridiculous prices due to the fact that the truffle is picked by the owner Annibale) himself. Annibale is there to make your life easier at his restaurant. He brought us some freshly picked truffles to see. These people try to give that genuine touch to their food. They produce their own eggs from barn organic bred chickens. They make their very own pasta and their very own pure wine. We had a blessing of truffle flavoured antipasti and three types of pasta to follow. We were served with some homemade digestive. All for a 20 euro per head price. Well done guys.
We drove 12 k to get to this great restaurant The waiter had plenty of time for us I had the veal steak with truffles and the local potatoes The food was excellent so was the service and the view If we are ever back this way again we will certainly visit this restaurant
We normally just walk the streets and pick a restaurant at random, but in Gizzeria, there seemed to be only pizzerias, and we wanted something different. Le Tre Fontane sounded great on TripAdvisor, and it was. We went with Annible's selection, seemed popular in the reviews, and it was so delicious. Everything was fantastic, the food, the vino russo, the digestivo, the setting and views from the balcony, the service, nothing could be faulted. So happy we visited.
We drove at night to the hilltop town of Gizzeria Calabria because I read about the amazing truffle meals that the owner finds himself. From the wine that the owner made himself and the beautiful mushrooms and truffles he hunts for and the owners great personality, all was perfect. The meal started with a truffle appetizer of warm cheese with truffle, next an appetizer plate with tropea onion , the owners own cut meats , and egg with truffle . The pasta with mushrooms and truffle were delicious.after dinner we ate the Millefiore dessert that was so good made with berries he finds and the owners own secret after dinner drink was amazing. We bought 3 bottles as it was delicious. It is worth the drive.Tip, if google tells you to leave the main road, don’t and you will be fine getting there.
We went there with a group of friends in order to enjoy their famous Menu al Tartufo truffle menu: portions were big enough, both pasta and meat, moreover we got a lot of appetizers and real local wine! Price was acceptable since truffle is very expensive by itself :
