Costabella - Girona

As we were staying in the hotel for a short break we decided to eat lunch here on 2 of the days so we could make the most of the sun and the pool! The food is excellent we had the ham and cheese platter both days and the nachos and guacamole as well. Delicious and could not fault it one bit. However my gripe with this restaurant is with a member of staff. On our 2nd day we requested to sit outside and were told we weren’t allowed. I asked what the reason was and the lady told me that it was because there was only one member of staff working (herself and there was a table of 8 in the restaurant as well and she could not manage both areas. Fair enough (kinda!! To be fair the lady in question looked like she had no interest in being there and didn’t crack a smile once! However less than 5 minutes later another member of staff arrived and the table of 8 left, leaving just 2 of us in the restaurant. They seemed to have the bill paid so surely she knew they were leaving?!? and the other staff member (who was so nice and recommend some places in the town to go remained there the whole time!!! Lack of professionalism and in my opinion laziness shown by the lady in question in a hotel that cannot be faulted on anything else was something that angered me. I know this seems like a rant but eating outside instead of in a dark restaurant when you only have a few days away and live in rainy Ireland makes a huge difference and is really a huge part of our holiday! But again just to stress the food is fantastic for lunch and so tasty!

We had an evening meal here during our short stay at the hotel. Overall we were not impressed. Especially after seeing all the good reviews. Service was average. No side plates for the bread. The starter was o.k, the main was tasteless. My chocolate dessert was bitter. I found the menu unimaginative. If we weren't so tired from our journey, we would have eaten in town.

We stay at the Costabella hotel on a regular basis and always eat at the on site restaurant. The staff are friendly and the food choice is excellent, very good quality well presented, the desserts are exceptional, also a good wine list offering several local wines. Will be visiting again.

Hotel excelente. Es de 3 estrellas pero le pondría 4. La atención muy buena por parte de los trabajadores tanto recepción, restaurante y limpieza. Las habitaciones muy acogedoras y limpias. El buffet del desayuno muy bueno y variado.

Muy recomendable. Lugar tranquilo, muy bien ubicado, habitación recién reformada, cómoda y silenciosa. L@s recepcionistas y el servicio en general, muy amable y atentos a nuestras necesidades. Volveremos
