Seagulls Restaurant & Lounge - Gimli

Went for fish and chips disappointed with the fish, not as good as the lost time we were there. The atmosphere is good with a window seat of the lake Winnipeg.

When I called to make lunch reservations on the patio I was told they do not make reservations for the outside so I reserved a window table inside. When we arrived there were 3 or empty tables outside and no one waiting. I asked for a patio table and was told the waiting list has 5 ahead of us. I saw these tables were still empty so a man told us there were 10 waiting now. Where were these people? ....they were not in the hall when we came. The tables were clean so get the people seated if that`s the case. Not sure how they work this but obviously people reserved these tables yet I wasn`t allowed to. Secondly they had tables reserved inside but no table was reserved for us as I requested. The $8 borscht only had a few pieces of cabbage and one small potato not hearty but expensive for mainly liquid soup. The fish and chips was not great...the batter soggy underneath. A good batter should be light and crispy. I saw the lady with the long hair go and fill waters outside but I had to request my water to be replenished and showed her the chip on my glass. Server asked if I wanted a new glass. Perhaps good manager is needed here.

We went to celebrate my birthday and decided on the seagull restaurant.First time at this place and we were very impressed. I was craving chicken Alfredo and they had the best tasting I have ever had. Husband had the fish and chips, 3 huge pieces of nicely light breaded pickerel very fresh. Restaurant is clean and staff are very friendly and respectful. Most tables have a lake view and summer time set up are also available on the outside patio. We will definitely make this one of our favourite spots.

Have been here before in summer and the fish tacos were great. This time it was bad. Fish was dark and gross. Bass? Yuck. If you don't have decent fish, this should not be on the menu.

Attended with a group on a beautiful summer day hoping to enjoy a pleasant dinner but our server really had an attitude. A quick list of her actions during the meal; No offer to refill our water or drinks even though it was +35C I had to ask multiple times for my drink and had to make a trip to the counter when it did not appear even after repeated requests. When I went to the counter, again to refill my water I was scolded by this waitress for doing so?!? She forgot our share plates and only came to bring them when our meals were just about complete. Didn't return to ask if we required anything after our meals were dropped off by another server prompting yet another trip to the counter for condiments. Our party did more serving than the server. I complained to the manager who basically told me to have a nice day. No offer of resolution. Our meals were burnt. Won't be back
