Bidra med feedbackLove the brown rice option, jackfruit red curry and the spicy chicken is amazing !
My favorite place to grab a quick lunch on Gili Air after spending a week here. The key is to go up to the counter to order in which case service is very fast. For nasi campur, each topping is 5,000 RP so generally is 20K or up to 40K for a heaping portion. Great spot for vegetarian vegan food, since they have at least 4 kinds of curry (eggplant, tofu, tempeh, jackfruit) and a number of other tofu, tempeh and vegetable preparations. The flavors are so rich and varied, which is why you can eat a slightly different lunch here every day of the week with all of their options. Their smoothies, however, are pretty expensive compared to everything else so haven't tried any of those to date.
Great food BUT the service is so SLOW! Three girls in the kitchen, they CANNOT deal with 5 people in the restaurant and people getting take away. First and last time.
Fantastic value and super tasty food. Highly recommended. We tried most things over 7 days while diving at Manta. I have no idea how the pricing works but we generally paid around 50k-60k for 2 full meals with multiple toppings and 2 sweets. I had very little concept of how to order and had to ask what half of the things are. Maybe because of this the service from 1 or 2 of the ladies was not very friendly and was impatient. But for the other 1 or 2 ladies the service was super nice, patient and friendly. It is quite awkward to order, you just seem to step up and then hunch down and order from the side of the glass by asking for or pointing at what you would like. Perhaps they could have some signs in front of the food on the window that says what each thing is and it would be very helpful for tourists and would similarly help them as well? They seem to have more meat that is cooked to order at night. For lunch it seems to be whatever is in the window that has already been prepared. I could be wrong though, that's just how it seemed. PS, the signage is just Warung Saba, not Warung Lalapan Saba. Perhaps it is different since the earthquake as the older photos look different to how it looked when we were there last week.
One of my favourite Warungs on the island, yummy food and friendly ladies. Will not give 5 star because they really save on the portions by giving very small amounts and it's quite annoying to ask every time to add some more.
