Bidra med feedbackI was a bit reluctant to try Taipei Osaka after numerous bad reviews, but given the lack of good choices in the area, I thought I 'd give it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised. We were seated immediately and the waitress brought fried wontons and duck sauce even before she brought menus. We ordered House (combo) Lo Mein, General Gau 's Chicken, and Ginger Beef with String Beans. The Lo Mein came out first, quickly followed by the other two dishes. The Lo Mein was nicely al dente, filled with the mixture of meats (chicken, pork, shrimp, beef). It was lightly sauced, surprisingly not greasy, and very tasty. The Ginger Beef with String Beans was tender, with crisp beans and large strips of ginger. The General Gau 's Chicken was okay, but not on par with the other two dishes. All in all, the bill was around $33 with tax...not bad. This is still not real Chinese food...it 's American Chinese. But the food was tasty, the service was friendly, and the prices were on par with other restaurants in the area. There were numerous luncheon specials under $8 (with soup, appetizer and rice). We did not try the sushi...we may do so in the future. But I 'm glad we found someplace in the area with decent Chinese food, with dishes not all doused in the ubiquitous brown sauce.
Good food and plenty of it. The place is clean with nice atmosphere. Sushi bar. I had the tofu dish with added beef! Delish My wife had the vegetable delight that she enjoyed along with Crab Rangoon . Cheap lunch we're coming back for sure
I went in right at 11. The place was clean enough, it doesn 't look like they did much since it was West Lake back in the day. The server looked to be the owner or the owners wife. She got my drink quickly got me a menu and some little fried wonton chips and took my order promptly. My food came or fresh and hot, the boneless spare ribs were not that good but everything else was. However once I started eating the server and her husband did too. I was rattling my ice in my empty glass and could not get their attention. So when I was done eating I went up to the register and she took my card and off I went. Food was pretty good, pretty basic chinese food, from a Chinese food restaurant but the service could have been way better. I 'll try it again and see what happens I don 't think they were used to customers so early. Hot and Sour soup was great though.
I get to go at least once a month for sushi. The place is always clean and service is friendly. I have been going here for the last two years. It is the only Chinese restaurant that serves wontons with meat in them like most Chinese restaurants around the country. The other I have tried around here only do plain fried wonton wrappers. Everything we have ever ordered from here has been fresh, hot, and delicious. So if you are in town and hungry stop and give them a try.... yummy
I just moved to Laconia from Plymouth. After spending 4 years in Plymouth for college, I have been excited to travel around this new town and see what it has to offer. For the last three weeks, I've been struggling to find time to look for good sushi. Between working 50+ hours a week and getting situated, I finally found some time to go to Taipai Osaka. I walked into this place so excited to try it out, around 8 pm. They close at 9:30. Two customers walked in before us, and for some reason walked back out. We went in anyways, but we should have just turned around. The man at the desk said it was takeout only, and I was okay with that. He proceeded to do everything he could to turn me away, acting like he didn't know what I meant by a crunchy California roll, then answered the phone while I was speaking, in the middle of a sentence, didn't even excuse himself. I walked out and he didn't even try to stop me, he started to tend to the two customers behind me, who also were turned away. These 2 customers were upset as well. After this happened, the guy goes and closes the door. It's OBVIOUS that you wanted to go home early, but you shouldn't be turning away customers to do it. I worked all day, I was really looking forward to spending some money and trying it out. Never will because of this one guy. Thanks for the awful first impression!
