Maison De Pierre - Gignod

We didn't had the pizza and this was probably the bad decision. Food was nothing special but expensive.

Food was delicious, maître d'hôtel was very attentive, reasonably priced dishes, atmosphere was acceptable for a Thursday evening in early October.

We were staying in the village at a lovely B&B and walked up the road to this hotel and restaurant for dinner. We had eaten here 3 years ago and had a wonderful meal but were informed by the B&B it was now under new ownership. As soon as we arrived the restaurant quickly filled up( there is nowhere else to eat in the village) and it soon became apparent the staff couldn't cope with the sudden influx of customers, they almost seemed to be panicking with things bring dropped, wrong orders delivered to tables and generally a feeling they were out of their depth. The menu selection was very limited so we opted for a pizza and played safe after all we were in Italy. It arrived after a long wait and was very poor. We didn't enjoy either the food or dining experience and will certainly not return here again if in the area. The 2 stars were for the staff.
