Bidra med feedbackSix of us were lucky enough to get a table on the first night at 101, and we were thrilled we didn't miss out. I chose to try the Outboard Motor Oatmeal Porter, Mahan Trail Blonde Ale, Tall Faller IPA, and the Raspberry Wheat. The consensus was that the blonde ale was the best, followed by my personal favorite, the Raspberry Wheat. All of the beers had a smoothness to them, without being overly hoppy like many other small breweries. The food was exceptional and delicious. We started with Hush littles, which were corn fritters accompanied by in-house pickles including pickled fennel, tomatillos, and even watermelon. The 101 burger, halibut ceviche, and Hot or Not chicken sandwich were all accompanied by delicious yucca fries. The Halibut and Brisket tacos were also outstanding. The Three Sisters Gringa, a vegetarian option, was enjoyed even by the meat eaters at the table. When Bob's Automotive closed, I wondered what would take its place in the building. I never would have guessed a brewery/distillery with such an amazing kitchen and selection of drinks. My daughter proclaimed 101 as her new favorite restaurant on the Coast. I'm sure that the people of the area will soon flock to 101 for the drinks, food, and great atmosphere. It's a fantastic new spot for both locals and tourists, but be prepared for it to be busy - it definitely deserves the attention.
I must say, this restaurant is a new and thrilling addition to Gibsons. The atmosphere is very inviting and suitable for both small gatherings and big social events. The menu offers unique dishes and generous portions. Our server was friendly and the service was outstanding. I would happily recommend this hidden gem to all my friends.
Our first time tonight, unreal service our server was amazing, the owners are so friendly! Great atmosphere of all ages, fantastic live music! Food was super yummy and great Beer!! Can't wait to go back.
We were staying overnight in Gibson's and this seemed like the best choice. I think we were right. My wife had the crispy cod pieces and I had the fish tacos. Both were very good. Server was both gracious and eager to hear our suggestions on how to improve the coleslaw needed some acid like vinegar and lemon. Vibe was a split between a locals bar and a staff party. Everybody seemed welcome to play their own favorite tunes on the sound system. Menu was reduced but server apologized and explained that they were training up new kitchen staff.
Definitely a must stop if visiting the Sunshine Coast. Enjoy a flight before getting your growlers filled. Location is great, easy to get to from highway if driving back from Sechelt on way to ferry or if you just want to come in to quench your thirst. Lots of great tasting beers and cocktails available. The new outdoor patio is perfect for outdoor music shows so check website or social media for upcoming events!
