Torronificio Trapani - GIARRATANA

I had the chance of tasting Trapani's nougat almost by chance, as a present from a friend ! When trying the wide selection of Trapani's nougat you undergo a unique experience, reminiscent of a world of ancient tastes of our land, where honey perfectly suits almonds, pistachio, hazelnuts, saffron. I personally advise to try the Modica dark chocolate coated nougat which is a real treat ! Congrats to this historic family whose activity dates back from mid-nineteenth century. A thousand of these days !

Dark chocolate covered white chewy nougat. Or white chocolate covered if you prefer. Almonds or Pistacchios, you choose! It is the BEST torrone I have ever had and I have to admit that I have tried a bit. A beautiful little town, Giarratana, and a fantastic Toronificio! It is worth the drive from any of the areas in the southeast. Buy one piece or take home several bags! My favorite are the dark chocolate fondente covered bites. A wonderful take home gift and not heavy at all!

If you are in the area no excuses: you have to come in and buy some nougat! We stayed in Catania and drove in specifically for this shop twice during two separate trips to Sicily : that pretty much sums up how good it is;
