Bidra med feedbackGiven the closure of several Geraldton restaurants in the last year it was a great surprise to discover this absolute gem. This is the training restaurant for the local TAFE college. Any ideas about eating in a glorified school dining hall were quickly dispelled by a lovely setting and once inside you'd not now you weren't in a regular restaurant. The food was simply wonderful, we had a lamb salad starter and a pumpkin and pear soup for starters both excellent. Main course was a lovely steak or local fish all beautifully prepared. We finished off with deserts that we were entirely to full to eat but we gave them a good go. The young girl who had prepared the meal also came to our table seeking feedback which was excellent to see and she was rewarded with nothing but praise. All this for only $25 for per head for 3 courses.
The training restaurant at the local TAFE serves fantastic value for money meals. Whilst the students are only learning they are closely supervised by highly qualified and experienced professionals. The restaurant is open for Wednesday dinner and Thursday lunch during school terms.
With due consideration of this being a training institution, the service and food was top quality and a very reasonable price.
We visited this restaurant recently not by choice as we had won a prize to attend. We were pleasantly surprised. Being a Restaurant with training hospitality staff you would expect it too have a little amateur nature about it NOT SO.We were rung the day before to confirm reservation. On arrival were met and ushered to our table by a very pleasant Irish girl.Issued with menus and beverage list. Attendance to our needs were paramount.Other restaurants in the town could take note.Beverage list was non complicated with a good selection as was the menu which was set at a price of $35 p head and contained entree,Main and sweets with a selection under each heading.our entree dishes of prawns and duck were just right as were our mains of the salmon and Pork which was topped off with a chocolate tart. All meals were of a high quality and served by the trainees who I am sure would obtain a position at any restaurant in Geraldton.Overall the matre 'd watched the staff like a hawk but never making it obvious. They all did a great job.Whilst this restaurant is only open on selected nights never the less it is well worth a visit as you will be pleasantly surprised. The only negative I could see having been in the industry previously was for the staff to be issued with name tags so that they could be adequately acknowledged at the end of the evening. If you are looking for somewhere different to dine mid week I could certainly recommend this one.
Beds sink in the middle, tv is smallThe ac drips all night longIts loud outside, sounds like the windows are open but they arent.
