Symposium Cafe Restaurant & Lounge - Keswick

We have been frequenting here for a few years now. Under new management now. I have seen mixed reviews here but I have to say under the new management, I have no issues. Never had an issue with my fish and chips or my Schnitzel. My wife had the curry bowl and she was fine with it. I had the wings and ribs combo. It was excellent. Ribs fell off the bone. We were taken care of by Ohm the manager there. He tries hard to make you happy. If you are not happy with your meal, they will try and make it right. Service is not perfect but they try hard to make you happy. I am ok with that. They are a good bunch of people. Don't expect The Keg here but its a nice place to have a bite in a nice setting. I will continue to visit them. Ohm you are a rock star. Thank you for taking care of us.

Our basketball team had a lunch at this restaurant. The service was amazing and the food was delicious. Thank you to Michelle and Jojo!

This restaurant does not even deserve one star. We arrived on November 17th, a Friday night at 8pm, and waited 10 minutes for a table for 6 even though there was an open and clean table available. Once seated, we waited for our drink order. The waitress took only 1 of my friends' drinks and then took 3 more orders while ignoring myself and another friend. The bar staff then made alcoholic drinks for kitchen staff, causing a delay in delivering our drinks. After waiting 20 minutes, our drinks were finally delivered, but the waitress continued to ignore us and walked away. When I asked why we weren't being served, she said it was because we were talking. To top it off, my beer tasted like water, so we paid and left without ordering food, deciding to go somewhere else. The restaurant was nearly empty, with only 2 other tables occupied by diners who appeared to be done eating and waiting for their bills. We were absolutely disgusted by the poor service.

The dishes at this restaurant are not consistent and can vary depending on the day. The manager explained that they have new cooks on different days. I was disappointed when I ordered wings that were supposed to come with celery and carrots, but there were none. When I mentioned this, I was told that it wasn't on their POS system, even though it was on their website menu and had been served the week before when I dined in. The bathroom door had a strong snap when closing, which could potentially cause harm to someone. Despite a caution sign being posted for over a week. When I tried to call in a pickup order, the person who answered the phone simply said "Hello?" and seemed confused when I asked if I had reached the restaurant. After a brief hold, the line was accidentally disconnected. Overall, I was disappointed by the inconsistencies and safety issues at this restaurant, and I do not plan on returning.

Came on a Friday night and the staff were all very friendly but were clearly short staffed. Food and drinks came out slowly which I could understand but the salmon I ordered was very small. Food was okay but I wouldn’t order it again.
