Teksen - George Town

Over the years went to this place, and the food quality has still remained from the top. Seafood is fresh, service is fast and food is delicious. There is always a queue during the lunch and dinner hours, try to make reservations earlier if you can, but if you are ready to wait for a short time, then avoid the rush hour.

One of the two 5 stars I gave during the 4 days eating cycle in Penang. We were lucky to have reservations. Otherwise, the amazingly long queue during dinner would be quite a shutdown. Enjoy all the dishes of the local hosts ordered for us in advance. The most remarkable were in green pea-grained, steamed fish-curry. Don't miss it!

Really an amazing restaurant that has been in business for over 60 years. This was our favorite Penang households coming to $50 USD for 6 people. We all ordered the articles that were highlighted with “Herzen” on the menu. Our favorites were the stir roasted veggies, silky steamed tofu with shrimps and spices, roasted chicken with plum sauce, and double roasted pigs. We also tried the shrimps with tamarind sauce, which was lovely. The only court we could have done without was the Stingray Curry. You won't regret coming here!

A really excellent Chinese restaurant. Note the opening hours and be there early it is always very crowded. If there is a small queue at the entrance, just wait for it to be worth the time. Although full capacity, we have our food very fast. We have Braised Pork Belly with Yam discs and one of the Chicken dishes (I forget what) and everything was delicious. Clear recommendation!

You can get authentic Penang food here. Their stir fry roasted pork is the best. Pricing here is a bit expensive but is definitely worth it. Overall the toilet is clean, staff is friendly, and most importantly is comfortable.
