Bidra med feedbackWe went here for breakfast in June 2017, it was completely disappointing. The focaccia was the worst we've ever eaten in Italy, it was very, very greasy and completely oversalted, just terrible. We also had a cup of hot chocolate, which was better, but all in all this place is completely overpriced and the low quality does not match the high price. Would not recommend.
Walking around Genua makes one tired and hungry. We we just about to travel up to the hill to Castello Spinola for the Royal Palace, but since it was still just lunch time we needed to find a place quickly. An appetite and tired feet mades us dedice to drop in MaDai (or F.R.S. di Bocchnu Fabrizio). Just locals, no English menu and freshly prepared foods kept our hopes up. The pastas (with tomato, pesto) were overcooked and probably we had the last out of the pan. It was the worst pasta of our trip, too bad. 15 euro for 2 pastas en 2 colas quite cheap though. Service was alright, friendly and quick. Not so much when paying the bill. We feel this place is overrated, but there's not much competition in this area.
Good for a colazione but not for lunch or dinner. Light lunch is avalable but if you like more try other.
During my several trips to Italy I am always looking for places where eating meets taste! I must say that during my journey to Genova, I had the chance twice to eat at MaDai! I enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and the service (it matters a lot to me!! . The Pizza's were just stunning and delicious, I was really hooked up ... just go and judge yourself!!!
I’m a Belgium tourist who often travels to Genova. Finally I have found a great restaurant. Centrally located very close to the historic center vicoli and Acquarium porto antico , excellent food, high quality ingredients and nice people are the ingredients of MaDai. This is even more a recommendation as I’m not an easy person when it comes to food. However, this cozy restaurant definitely seduced me. With 16 Euro’s you can taste the real classic Italian menu of primo piatto, secondo piatto and dolce. A must for every foreigner travelling to Genova!
