Bidra med feedbackI visited this restaurant with my family last night (December 16th) after a Christmas meal to have some drinks. We had been there for about 1.5-2 hours when my cousin mistakenly picked up someone else's drink from the bar, thinking it was hers. The manager then approached our table and accused my cousin of trying to steal drinks, insisting that we leave. Despite offering to pay for the drink and apologizing for the error, the manager was extremely rude. He then had security escort us out, which was very embarrassing. We are not rowdy individuals, and we were there with our parents, so this situation completely ruined the night for all of us. The manager handled the situation very poorly, showing no empathy or willingness to find a resolution. Instead, he immediately labeled us as thieves and forced us to leave. He even suggested that my cousin leave on her own, even though she had traveled a long distance with her mother to be there. The manager's behavior was unacceptable, and I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Next year, when we have our annual Christmas meal in Mapperley top, we will be choosing a different place for drinks.
My family has a yearly tradition of meeting at our local restaurant and having drinks together afterwards. This year, we had a pleasant evening until a minor misunderstanding escalated when the manager, Jack Spears, overreacted in an irrational manner. A bartender accidentally placed a drink in front of one of our family members, and when they assumed it was intended for us, Jack accused the family member of theft. He rudely demanded that we leave the premises without giving us a chance to explain or pay for the drink. Even after offering to pay, Jack insisted on calling security to remove us from the restaurant. When our elders tried to speak to him civilly, Jack avoided them and hid in the kitchen once he realized his mistake. If this is the standard of management at this restaurant, I have concerns about its future.
The food at this restaurant is okay for the price, and you can get a meal and a drink at a reasonable cost. The service was quick, but the cleanliness of the table was lacking. Despite sitting at a table that had been cleared of dirty dishes, it was still covered in wet wine stains, bits of food, and a used napkin. The staff made no attempt to clean it, leading to a rather unpleasant dining experience. The restaurant only receives two stars due to this hygiene issue.
Where to start ! The manager JOSH ! And staff had the worst attitudes ! The food was stone cold (which I will be reporting to food and hygiene) the steak was so tough ! The chicken burger was extremely dry and the chicken breast had to be cut in half to try and be eaten! The garlic bread was burn ! The whole of our family meal was a waste of money! They didn’t even ask if our food was alright! The place is dirty ! Plates and glasses left out ! And the toilets were disgusting! I really don’t think they ever clean them ! That was the last time we will ever be visiting!
We live locally, I can only rate this Wetherspoons as chaos ,dirty tables ,no staff to be bothered to clear them ,generally full of crying children, workmen ,noisy atmosphere, avoid at all cost. Wetherspoons head office need to get involved
