The Banzara Multi Cuisine Restaurant is situated near the train station within the Hotel Rajmahal. We visited for lunch and were pleased with the delicious food. The restaurant also offers a variety of tasty vegetarian dishes.
Located on a bustling 24-hour street in the residential Rajmahal Hotel, this restaurant offers a good ambiance and spacious seating. However, the food quality does not quite match the decor. Our selected dishes had an average taste, and the prices fall within the medium range.
On December 29, 2016, the restaurant at the hotel was well reviewed, but on December 30th the service started to decline. The New Year's Eve party on December 31st was chaotic, with all staff catering to wealthy Marwari customers. The worst part came when we tried to dine at a restaurant called Banzara. We were stopped at the entrance and rudely told that all tables were reserved and there was no space for us. Despite having a young child who was hungry and needing to catch a flight the next day, we were turned away until we complained to the general manager. Eventually, we were given a table, but no one apologized for the inconvenience except for the gm. We understand that it was a busy night, but that shouldn't mean that house guests are treated poorly based on their appearance or financial status. We will not be returning and will not recommend this restaurant to others.
We had skipped lunch and went in starving at six, while the choices were limited at the time, the food tasted great. We were two of us and ended up ordering three dishes and by the end of our meal were stuffed and happy. We...started with Punjabi Choley, which is a trade mark dish for the restaurant. The Choley was prepared non spicy, would say the masala were on the mild side which worked perfectly for us, the batura were non oily. Although they could have improved on the dish by providing a side serving of onions. Our second dish was a plain dosa, standard affair, still tasted great with the serving of three different chutneys. Third dish was a Spicy Panner wrap the serving is big, it's more of two rolls cut into four sections. While it says spicy, it not so. Decent tasting nothing special. For drinks we went in for One Kiwi Colada which is a normal Pina Colada. For the three dishes and a drink we ended up paying Rs.900/ , I would say the price is on the higher side, still we did enjoy our meal and the food is never a disappointment. In the past i have had Indian meals and the food tasted great. It's a safe bet for a good India Meal in nice done up ambiance.
