Smoky Mountain Trout House - Gatlinburg

Hostess was very rude as if she didn't want us to call it racist only as I see it, another black family comes into her says she has to wait, but the white family sits behind them

Apparent The Trout House has a new owner and management everything for the worse. My family has enjoyed The Trout House for over 20 years, but are no longer patrons. The information found online may refer to new or old management, so it is completely unreliable. We tried to make reservations as we always have, but the phone goes to Voicemail immediately, which alerts you that Voicemail is not set up. So we sat in traffic for 30 minutes to make reservations personal and were told 3 different things about 3 different people (all of them could be extensive customer service training). Firstly, they said they can only take reservations under certain conditions, then we became only for parties up to 6 (we have 7) and finally that they would not accept any reservations at all. I'm really sorry to remove The Trout House from our menu, but we really enjoyed the last 20 years under the previous line. Note to new management: get phone service, update inaccurate information online and please train your staff. Otherwise we are happy to bring Trout House back to our list when the next owner buys it, because if even 10% of the guests experience what we have done today, it will not take long. Everybody stay safe!

Had a deliciously affordable platter of grilled rainbow trout with a loaded baked potato and side salad. I wanted to go back the next night to try it fried but I couldn't wait until they opened to eat.

This place was horrible. The food and the customer service. There was SO many bones in the trout, bread wasn’t toasted on grilled cheese, ran out of hamburger buns, and the chicken was so hard. Don’t know how this place has 4 stars ?? the customer service was awful, just know when you say thank you, one of the servers doesn’t know how to say you’re welcome. We would say something, or something we needed and she would just walk away without answering.. horrible experience

What a great find! compared to all the other grills in the main strip that served overpriced food cause they added a salad bar. THIS is the place to go, we loved trying all the different ones, cajun, dill, salt/pep regular, that was our favorite just the regular one. Great job on the food!
