Bidra med feedbackThier (John and his lovely wife food is a pleasant surprise in this sleepy little country. Doors open at 8pm, and, if you 're lucky, you 'll get a table. No rush eating, thank goodness because there 's gonna be a TON of food. Ate there 3 of the 7 nights were were in the area. Why? Because it was the best choice in the Allessandria area, hands down! Good wine, too. And beer. First night? Raviolli for me, veal for my wife. We ate half then traded. Wow. All the veggies are out of their garden. Cheeses made by a friend, and, wine from a friends vineyard. Second night? Spaghetti for me, gnocci for my wife. Then, we traded? Nope, both were too good to trade. Third night? Steak for me that one steak could have fed an entire family. It was as thick as the length of my index finger. The whole finger. I forget what my wife had. It didn 't matter. I had a job to do. And I did. Finished it. Okay the meals have starters. Starters are pretty much different every night. EIGHT of them. Cheese, salami, a potato(? salad type of thing, etc .. One night we didn 't eat all of them, saving room for the meal. John 's wife came out with him to interpret .. very upset .. you didn 't like? YES why you send it back? We didn 't, we had to save room, we ate some of it. you didn 't like, I 'll fix something different. NO WE LIKED, WE DIDN 'T HAVE ROOM. Now .. that 's service .. and pride of their cooking. Salad right out of the garden and enough for 10. Desert home made again. and .. different all three nights. When in the area Asti Alessandria anywhere in that area .. you HAVE to visit this place ... and John loves to practice his english, and, what a sense of humor and a great story teller and fisherman ! Oh .. open on SUNDAYS for lunch and dinner ..
John and his wife served us the best angus we had in quite a time. If you looking for a good piece of meat This is the place. The handmade angeloti are absolutely amazing. We where passing through and could enjoy a late dinner before driving to our hotel. Thanks for all! If they have it ask for the black angus you wont regret it !
We found this hidden gem after a search for nearby restaurants on TripAdvisor. Arrived when they opened and were the only guests. After a few minutes, the entire restaurant was filled with hungry, local people. We got the host to recommend the appetizer, main course and dessert. Everything was short cooked and homemade and had wonderful flavors. This was really good, home-cooked food. Great starter. Perfect tagliata and the best tiramisu ever! Really worth the little ride from the highway and into this restaurant. Good value. Highly recommended!
