Bidra med feedbackWhile we travel through the Black Forest and stay at a nearby campsite, we stopped here to eat. We both had beer. My wife had the smoked Bratwurst and I had the Vesperplatte. Both were excellent examples of rustic Bavarian dishes. What made dinner unforgettable was the owner Leoda. After the question where we were from her, she sat with us for a wonderful conversation. It is very warm and the epitome of what a host should be. We felt like family as she told us about the inn and her family and showed us pictures. We felt like long lost relatives. Make yourself a favor and eat here and if you're lucky, Leoda will sit for a while. She is really a jewel and the restaurant wonderful.
Portions are ENORMOUS!!! To be honest, I didn't eat in the main restaurant, but it was my uncle's birthday and he hired a small private area in the café/pub to have a family dinner there for 20 of us. The food was super and extremely fresh. The deserts were to die and the staff friendly BUT I don't think anyone there spoke English. The people who run it have been theirs for years and it seems families are running so that it has a beautiful local atmosphere.
I sometimes treat myself to eat there if I don't have time to make my own lunch, the location is perfect, before the university, the food is fresh and really delicious, and the people are particularly friendly
