Bastian´s - Friedberg (Hessen)

Travelling to ever smaller roads we eventually arrived at Bastian's in a very small town. What a surprise when you enter and see the menu, this is high end dining that delivers on taste, ambience and value for money. I can't imagine that you would ever stumble over this restaurant but it is definitely worth making the effort to visit. It is only 30 or 40 minutes from Frankfurt. I visited mid week and it was very busy so it probably makes sense to book in advance

ALthough in new hands it did not loose it's outstanding class. The food is more traditional then when the restaurant still was in Andre Grosfelds hands, but nevertheless it has it's special twists. The service was attentive and friendly throughout the whole time.

Really remote and feels like in the middle of nowhere. Awesome and impeccable service. I loved the vegetarian dishes in particular. Really tasty and fresh. The meat was a little too heavy with a rich dark sauce. At least for my taste. Will come again.
