Bidra med feedbackThe majority of the dishes were delicious, but the pigeon meat was awful. The prices for the food are quite high.
The view from the restaurant was stunning. The calamari was excellent, but the other dishes were just average.
The restaurant is located in a beautiful harbor and feels like a step back in time. The service at the marina is exceptional. Though McMillin's dining room is expensive, the food is delicious and worth every penny. The flag ceremony paying tribute to Canada, the United Kingdom, and the USA is a nice touch, but be prepared for the loud cannon that may startle you and others. The restaurant also has a nice grocery store and during the summer months, there is a small outdoor market. Don't forget to take a leisurely walk to the mausoleum, which is an easy hike mostly in the shade and a peaceful place to contemplate mortality.
We were staying elsewhere on the island and drove up to Roche harbor to check it out. What a bizarre place. It's basically all multi-million dollar yachts. There's a couple of overpriced restaurants. This is a good one to leave off your list when you are on San Juan island.
Piano and organ music in the music room, a lovely lap pool, beautiful grounds were all awesome. Shower/bathrooms need updating. Paint is peeling. A somewhat steep hike up the hill behind the pool leads to a trail to Moran State Park and the trail continues around Cascade Lake.
