McMillin's Dining Room - Friday Harbor

Everything was excellent. The beautiful presentation of the dishes was a delightful surprise. Both the food and service were great. The prices were reasonable, although out of town guests may find them a bit high. We adore McMillian's and it's always a wonderful experience to have dinner there during the summer.

The service was excellent with friendly staff, but the food left much to be desired. I have had better steak at Applebee's for a fraction of the cost.

Each visit impresses us with the stunning location, cozy atmosphere, mouth-watering food, exceptional service, and breathtaking views. While they have let the quality of the food slip while steadily increasing prices, the ambience remains romantic and unforgettable. Definitely NOT a place for foodies, but the service is impeccable. Wish they'd get a chef who understands scallops should be tender, not chewy and tasting of iodine, or how to make an pricey heirloom tomato and crab salad with tomatoes that actually have flavor and crab that is fresh rather than stringy and tasteless. The bar on the deck below MacMillans has much better tasting choices, and the same view.

We arrived a little early for our reservation. We were seated in the bar to wait. The bar staff were very friendly and helpful. Our table was 25” late and we weren’t seated until after asking the hostess a second time about our table. We didn’t mind the wait. However we would have preferred some communication. We wondered if we’d been forgotten. Our waiter was awesome!! Very friendly and personable. We truly enjoyed our meal time with his service!
