Bidra med feedbackIf you think this eatery does a mean butter chicken, naan and other subcontinental classics... then be prepared to let go of that safety net... instead think a combo of seafood, tamarind, tomato and sweet onion... or the fiery barramundi.. or better yet the slow cooked fall-apart beef cheeks, are definitely found off the beaten track. The femme found wonderful vego allures of creamy zucchini, potato and fig koftas. Faultless service with sophisticated flavours only punctured by not having superb wines by the glass.
I did enjoy the food I ate at Maya. I did not enjoy the portion sizes, especially considering the prices asked. And then there's the service: when my partner's parents (from UK) ate there, after they were horrified by the prices they were asked to leave a tip(!)Sorry Maya, but you really need to pick up your game for me to ever consider coming back.
We visited this restaurant last night on the recommendation of my husband's PA who loves this restaurant. It did not disappoint! We have been to several Indian restaurants in Perth city centre, Fremantle and Subiaco and this one is head and shoulders above them all!The quality of the food was outstanding and the service five star, low key but at the same time attentive. Also the wine list was spot on!We will definitely return!
Sadly after more than 25 years this iconic Indian restaurant is closing in the next week or so We have been enjoying Gurp's & his brother's, Pindar, food for at least 20 yearsYou have only a week or two to sample what we have been enjoying for so long All the best to Gurps & Pindar
Had a delicious and authenticly spiced lamb rogan josh with kashmiri naan. Good size portions and great service. Was slightly cold sat near the front door. Can't understand why the place is closing, it was busy and the food was amazing
