Everything about Riverside is excellent. The perch is delicious, the breakfasts are fantastic make sure you get the homemade jam or jelly). And the pies, THE BEST, made fresh daily.

Wow. We were drawn in by the list of pies we saw on MLive’s article on the restaurant, but we were blown away by the service, selections, and food. Our waitress was amazing, did a great job in explaining things but also giving us space to enjoy our food. Amazing! We were there during lunch but went with breakfast food. The Hash and All That was delish, the corned beef hash really shined. I loved my western omelet- it was really balanced and flavorful. The toast was homemade with homemade jam- of which we bought a jar on the way out. Don’t miss the polish sausage, it was excellent. My favorite bite was from the biscuits and gravy- better than my own!!!! We got raspberry pie and coconut cream pie to go because we were too full to eat there. Go here, support a local business, and enjoy your meal.

The food here is great but the amount of flies this restaurant has inside is disturbing. We had 5 flies buzzing around our table the entire time we were there and this is not the first time it has happened either. The waitress we had completely messed up our order and then made it seem like it was our fault she didn't write it down. We got two slices of their famous pie to go because we couldn't stand the flies any longer and when we got home we discovered the waitress put them In the bag upside down. If that wasn't bad enough the tops were not locked so when you picked it up it fell out into the bag an onto the floor. I loved this place months ago but after this experience I think I will go else where. While I love supporting a small business id rather not share a table with flies. Everything else I can forgive but being chased out by the swarm was just to much for me to handle. With them landing on everything nothing is sanitary.
