Bidra med feedbackWhat a delightful lunch! Outstanding food and a charming restaurant. The wait staff was friendly and accommodating. We both enjoyed our meals which were prepared to perfection and beautifully presented. I had the Hansen’s Special of poached and fried fillets of plaice with shrimp and asparagus, and my husband had the roast pork with crackling, served with red cabbage, pickled cucumber and boiled potatoes. I highly recommend visiting Hansens Gamle Familiehave!
This is a very good classical danish restaurant for open faced sandwiches, or classical dishes. There is no interpretations of the food, or wanna be pretentiousness, just plain classical good food with excellent service. It reminds me of how Grøften in Tivoli used to be under the reign of Eriksen. We are going again for sure!!
I arrived with a friend to have a traditionel Danish lunch (smoerrebroed). This is something rather specific to Denmark because lunch normalt consists of dark bread with something (meat, fish, shrimp, egg, vegetables etc on it). This place is wellknown for it’s smoerrebroed, and it was buzzing. Nevertheless we were received very kindly, and although we had not ordered a table in advance we got one shortly after in a small room à part and only a few tables, but that was nice because we were not disturbed by the noise from the other guests. We each had two pieces of smoerrebroed which does not seem a lot, but this is enough to leave you quite satisfied. My friend had a grilled filet of fish with shrimp on dark bread, and after that several slices of pork roast (flaeskesteg) on dark bread. I had a tartar of beef with egg yolk on dark bread and a stilton on white bread to finish. My friend had a draught beer and I a mineral water. The food was excellent, BUT I Would have liked to be warned that the stilton was almost acid. I did expect something “fruity”, but this was a bit over the top. Although we were not in the main hall we received a very good service. The atmosphere was absolutely friendly and cosy, and even though they were extremely busy they attended to us admirably. We ended by having a cup of coffee perhaps the most uninteresting coffee I have tasted in a long time. Too bad because otherwise I Would have given the place 5 points. I absolutely recommend it especially if you want to go for a traditionnal Danish smoerrebroed with ample choices.
We were there for lunch and the food are very delicious. The staffs are very nice. Definitely will get back again.
Adjacent to frederikshave and the zoo there are som garden restaurants which have been there for centuries. the best of the lot (actually the only one worth visiting) is hansens where you get good traditional danish food in a romantic atmosphere. unfortunately some years ago the big trees which provided shadow in the summer died off and the restaurant was forced to build a roof to provide shadow. fortunately the roof enables the restaurant to open all year
