Bidra med feedbackEvery time we visit the Northside Market, we always make sure to stop by this place. The pizza is absolutely delicious, with high-quality ingredients. As someone who cooks for my family, I appreciate the attention to detail in ingredient selection and the flavorful combinations they create. If you're looking for a pizza loaded with toppings on a thick crust, there are plenty of other options to choose from. But if you want to try something unique and constantly improving, definitely give this place a try. The only downside is that they don't have a permanent location, so you can only get their pizza during market hours. Additionally, there isn't much seating outside, so you'll have to head inside the market to enjoy your meal.
I have had my fair share of thin crust pizza, some I had trouble parting with and some I would rather forget. Unfortunately, this pizza falls in the later category for me. I had great hopes for Fired after having visited the FB page and reading the positive feedback they seemed to be getting. I gave them 2 chances. The first time we ordered every one on the menu for a quick supper. We knew the size was small but was shocked by the thinner than a pita bread crust and the almost nonexistent toppings. Fair enough, I will give them one more chance which I did, months later. I ordered a mushroom pizza for $6. I nearly laughed when I walked up to the counter because I don't even think there was a full sliced mushroom on my pizza. I do understand less is more on pizza and I make some great homemade pizza feasts here in my home but from where I stand the amount on Fired pizza has a long ways to come. I am also not a huge advocate for a very thick crust pizza with an inch of cheese. There can be a lovely balance and for me Fired has not found that balance. I do commend him for using local products where he can.
I first had their pizza after I learned on facebook that one of their pizzas is in the top 3 in Canada.Naturally I had to check them out. I went expecting a physical location and was quite surprised that it was a booth at a market. Ok Street Food? Awesome! The guys were awesome and answered all my questions about the 4 different pizzas they had to offer. I decided to buy two and got the Pizza Rucola and The Original. They made the pizza completely in front of me which was a really neat thing to watch. The Pizza Ricola was a prosciutto arugala and tomato pizza. They also use a garlic olive oil which you could smell as the grilled the pizza. This leads me to my next comment, they grilled it! THis is the first time I have ever seen anything like this and was pretty impressed at how the bake turned out on the crust. Back to the pizza, It was amazing. One bite and I was hooked. Everything is fresh and never frozen and you can really taste the difference.I liked the rucola but the Original was definitly the best one I ate. On the surface it is just a cheese pizza, but the romano mixed in with the mozz and their sauce was to die for. Their sauce was all hand made at the beginning of the day, and he said he used an imported tomato. The dough was wonderful as well. I am often hard pressed to find a thin crust that also has flavour but theirs does. They say they want in a food truck within 5 years, I hope it is sooner. Will definitly be back!
I live nearby and my go-to for takeout is this restaurant! Out of all the Vietnamese and Thai restaurants I've been to, this place has the freshest taste and highest quality.
This pho restaurant is tucked away in a simple plaza near Dixie and Bloor, but don't be fooled by its appearance - it's a hidden gem.
