Bidra med feedbackThe noble restaurant Villa merton also includes a bistro that offers a business lunch under the weekly dinner. You can choose a two- or three-speed menu, a hot drink according to the menu is included. the menu changes so that you get something new again and again; In addition, an order à la carte from a small card is also possible. we chose the three-course menu that was very delicious. also the service was very accommodating. prices are absolutely appropriate for this class. the visit was rewarded and is worth a rest.
Nice Michelin starred restaurant in an elegant building with very good food and fair priced. I would be happy to return here.
While on business travel in Frankfurt, I decided to knock out a Michelin starred restaurant. I was seated by the fireplace in the main dining room and took all the suggestions my server offered including the pairings. Everything was exceptional, but the venison was as...good as any wagyu I've eaten. Service was excellent. Wine was perfectly paired and the facility was beautiful.
Such a shame that what should be remembered as a great night is tarred by the poor service we received. In Frankfurt recently with friends and booked at Villa Merton as a treat, as we could only go on the Saturday evening we booked in...for the special in the gourmet restaurant, I can only think that the level of service is reduced because you're paying a reduced price. Having eaten at other star Michelin restaurants I was able to compare situations and this fell way short of the service expected. Once seated there was a little too long a wait to be asked for drinks/water but eventually we were seen to and handed menus. This is when things started to go wrong. We were a party of with one vegetarian. We could choose dishes from two menus, being able to switch between the two if desired. From of us only of us made change each. For some reason this caused confusion with two of our party being served each others dishes on two occasions even though they weren't the ones who had swapped between the two menus. Incorrect water was topped up for one guest but that was when we were lucky enough to actually be topped up as for most of the meal this didn't happen nor did the guests who didn't have the accompanying wine be asked if they wanted another drink. On getting the dishes wrong again one of our party insisted the waiters rectified matters for the remaining courses. Not sure if this was why we then had a minute wait for the next course or if that was standard. A fellow diner also seemed to have issues with part of the service. One table finished their meal halfway through ours and dropped a napkin on the floor, said napkin remained on the floor up until our leaving. These may seem minor points but when paying Michelin prices you expect Michelin service, as we have had elsewhere. Such a shame because the food truly was outstanding. Favourite of the night was the crispy tofu despite not being a vegetarian. Beautifully plated food with amazing taste in every last piece, they even managed to get Sambucca into one of the dishes and make it work. I would recommend Villa Merton for the beautiful building itself and the amazing food, just be prepared for service to fall short of the Michelin mark.
Good dinner poor service far from what should be a Michelin star restaurant: need to ring and wait a while at the door, waiter interrupting conversation or taking plate before meal is finished, no one at the cloakroom to handover costs when leaving!!!!...On the other hand food is good except a black rice meal that was too sour. Wine list is ok but not too large. Atmosphere is comfortable but a bit impersonal and cold.
